I led the graphic design team developing product for the six national track+field teams Nike supplied with uniforms and off-field gear for the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games. Every detail, fabric, trim and stitching, on competition apparel must be efficient and functional. Even aesthetic design—color, patterning, material—can provide athletes with confidence, comfort and energy. I was proud to be a member of the team who developed the revolutionary aerodynamic Nike Swiftsuit. Hometown favorite Cathy Freeman, under tremendous pressure, wore the sophisticated head-to-toe suit to win gold in the 400 meters.
