NIKE JAPAN
Nike has a deep legacy in Japan, and the country is a sophisticated market, with a keen understanding of the cultural, creative and social power of sports. The intent of the new headquarters was to connect employees and guests with the compelling stories of the brand in the consumer energy of Tokyo Midtown in Roppongi.
The familiar waffle outsole pattern, crafted from recycled felt materials, warms and softens the entry and frames the wood flooring pattern that pays homage to the Nike Cortez outsole.
The space was meticulously crafted by Tokyo-based Torafu Architects.
Stainless steel sculpture by iconic artist Tomokazu Matsuyama electrifies the entry.
